MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2015

PepsiCo Design conceived and created Mix It Up to celebrate the world of Pepsi, moving from multi-sensorial experiences with its beverage portfolio all the way to collections of products and moments embodying the purpose of the brand, transcending colas and ascending to the very idea of LIVE FOR NOW.

The Mix It Up space showcased the collision of the worlds of fashion, music, design and pop culture, featuring projects in partnership with leading talents during Milan Design Week, the design industry’s premier international event.

THE KOLA
BAR & LOUNGE

PepsiCo Design and Kravitz Design Inc. (envisioned by Lenny Kravitz), teamed up to create a chill space to celebrate the world of kolas and mixology.

THE KOLA STATION

The Kola Station, created by Design Group Italia (DGI) and PepsiCo’s Design Team, marries tradition to modernity, referencing artisanal beer and whiskey production via eye-catching glass cylinders filled with ingredients such as kola nuts, kola powder and spices.
Master alchemist, author and nutritionist Alex Ott unveiled the magic behind the kola nut, creating beverages that stimulated the senses with bursts of flavors sure to surprise taste buds.

EXPERIENCE SPACES

Two artistically-inspired atmospheres were created by the world famous designers Fabio Novembre and Stefano Giovannoni to feature The Pepsi Spire 2.0.

FOOD TRUCK

The Pepsi Spire Food Truck, designed in collaboration with by Karim Rashid, was partially reproduced and parked in the "Mix It Up" space, where it delighted visitors with unexpected snacks and beverages from the PepsiCo product portfolio.

FASHION SHOWCASE BY VOGUE TALENTS

PepsiCo brought its global fashion collaboration with Vogue Italia — “Pulse of New Talent” — to Milan. The collection captures Pepsi’s essence of youthful excitement, energy and self-expression through the fresh lens of distinct creative personalities selected from six countries. Ukraine’s Masha Reva displayed her latest exclusive designs for Pepsi, inspired by the streets of her home country.

PEPSI + ITALIA INDEPENDENT EYEWEAR

Marking an exciting partnership with a limited edition eyewear collection, this creative output is the first collaboration between Lapo Elkann’s Italia Independent and PepsiCo Design.

THE PEPSI CHALLENGE

The “Live for Now” Design Challenge kicked off at Milan Design Week, with a design concept from Nicola Formichetti exhibited in the PepsiCo #MixItUp space to serve as inspiration to people who are taking the Pepsi Challenge.

Round Table
A panel conversation introduced the Pepsi Challenge Design Board. Top submissions  from around the world will be judged by Nicola Formichetti, Mauro Porcini, and a hand-selected committee of design leaders, including: Marcelo Burlon, Lapo Elkann, Karim Rashid, Franca Sozzani, Fabio Novembre and Stefano Giovannoni.

A lively wall displayed the exuberant essence of PepsiCo’s ever-growing product and brand portfolio.
